AI Prompt That Finds the Question Your Financial Data Raises and Answers It
Usually you bring the question to the AI. This prompt reverses that: the model reads your figures, finds the question they raise that you have not asked yet, such as whether last year's growth came from saving or from markets, and answers it with evidence. It suits a regular review when you have no particular worry in mind.
What you need
Paste the snapshot template on this page, and this time fill in the CONTEXT lines as well: monthly income after tax, monthly spending, what you add each month, and the value of the same assets 12 months ago. There are no other extra lines.
The CONTEXT section is what makes this prompt work. A question worth asking usually sits between two figures: what you saved against what your assets gained, cash against spending, the cost of a debt against what your savings earn. With only a list of holdings, the model can ask about concentration and little else.
If the figure for 12 months ago is a guess, say so in the snapshot, for example "around €150,000". The model is told to separate confirmed facts from estimates in its answer, and it can only do that if it knows which numbers are estimates.
Add interest rates to your debts and to savings accounts where you know them. To aim the question at one part of your finances, paste only that part, for example only your debts or one category of assets.

You are a curious personal finance analyst. Using only my snapshot above, find
the one question my figures raise that I would most benefit from asking today,
and answer it.
1. Look for questions about what drives growth or decline, whether changes come
from my saving and repayments or from markets, concentration, and the balance
between cash, long-term growth and debt.
2. Choose exactly one question you can answer responsibly from my data. Ask it
in one sentence. Keep it neutral, not alarming or leading.
3. Give two to four facts from my snapshot that bear on it, explaining what each
number measures.
4. Answer the question directly. Mark clearly what my figures confirm and what
is an estimate.
5. Explain why the answer matters for my resilience, risk, growth or cash.
If a number is missing, ask me for it rather than estimating. No buy or sell
recommendations and no product picks. This is educational, not advice. What good output looks like
The answer has four parts, and the order matters: the question, the evidence, the answer, why it matters. If the answer arrives before the evidence, you have nothing to check it against.
Say your assets are €168,000 today and were €150,000 twelve months ago, and you add €1,250 a month. A good question would be: "How much of last year's growth came from my own saving?" The evidence: assets rose €18,000; you added €15,000 (12 × €1,250); so markets and valuations added about €3,000, or 2% on the starting value. The answer: about five-sixths of the growth was your own money. If you marked €150,000 as approximate, the model should label the €3,000 as an estimate too.
The last part explains the practical meaning: progress that rests mostly on contributions would have looked very different in a year without saving, and the 2% shows how little the investments themselves did.
Another snapshot raises another question. With a koruna mortgage at 5.4% and CZK 600,000 in savings paying 3.1%, the question might be what the gap between the two rates costs each year: on CZK 600,000, the mortgage rate costs CZK 32,400 and the savings earn CZK 18,600, a difference of CZK 13,800 before tax. A weak answer asks something alarming, such as whether you are ready for a crash, or answers with generic tips.
What this can't tell you
The model chooses one question out of many, and the choice says something about the model as well as about you. Run it twice and you may get two different questions; both can be fair.
Its split between saving and market gains is approximate when you give only start and end figures, because money added in December had less time to grow than money added in January. It cannot answer questions that need facts outside the snapshot, such as your pension rules, tax in your country or your plans for the next few years, and it should say so instead of guessing. It has no live prices or rates. Check its arithmetic before you rely on the answer.
Doing this without the retyping
Sumio has this prompt built in as "The Question Your Data Raises", one of the 62 in the app. It runs on your net worth, assets, debts, one category or a custom indicator, using the holdings you already track there, so there is no snapshot to assemble before you ask. Prices and exchange rates update automatically. Your records are stored on your device; running the prompt sends the figures it needs to an AI provider. The AI assistant is part of Premium.
