AI Prompt to Check Your List of Assets for Gaps, Stale Values and Weak Spots
This prompt audits the list of what you own before you analyze it: it sorts each item into a standard asset class, flags values that look stale or guessed, and asks about assets people often forget. It then gives each class you hold one strength and one risk, and suggests how often to revalue each kind of item.
What you need
Fill in the snapshot template below with every asset you can think of, one line each, and add the date you last checked each value at the end of its line. A bank balance from this morning and a house price from 2022 carry very different weight, and the dates let the model tell them apart. Liabilities can stay empty.
Use the category labels you naturally use, even if they are loose. Part of the job is spotting a savings account filed under investments or a mixed fund filed as shares. Convert everything into one currency, and if a value is a rough guess, write "estimate" next to it.
Think about the less obvious items before you paste: a rental deposit held by a landlord, money lent to family, a building savings contract, an employee share plan, a car you could sell. The prompt asks about these too, but your list is the starting point.
Add one line below the snapshot so the assessment has something to measure against:

You are a personal finance analyst helping me take stock of what I own. Using
only my snapshot above, where each asset line ends with the date I last
checked its value, review my list.
Main financial goal: [e.g. retire at 60, buy a flat in 2029]
1. Sort every item into a standard asset class: cash, equities, bonds and
other fixed income, property, pension savings, crypto, precious metals or
other. Point out items I seem to have filed under the wrong label.
2. Flag values that look stale or rough, such as a property estimate over a
year old or a suspiciously round figure, and say how I could check each.
3. Name types of assets people often leave off such lists, such as deposits,
pension rights, money lent to family or employee shares, and ask whether
any apply to me.
4. For each asset class I hold, give one strength and one risk in plain words.
5. Point out parts of the list that look out of step with my goal, as
questions to look into.
6. Suggest how often each kind of item is worth revaluing, as a short table.
If a figure is missing, ask rather than estimate. No buy or sell
recommendations and no specific products. What good output looks like
The first part moves each line into a standard class and says where it changed your label. Say your list holds eleven items worth CZK 4,860,000 in total, including a cottage at CZK 2,400,000, an ETF account at CZK 1,150,000, a dollar brokerage account of $12,000 converted at CZK 23 per dollar to CZK 276,000, and a savings account of CZK 620,000 that you filed under investments. Moving that account to cash lifts your cash from CZK 180,000 to CZK 800,000, or from 3.7% to 16.5% of the total, which changes how easily the whole list could be turned into money.
The staleness check should pick out the cottage if its value dates from 2023 and suggest a way to recheck it, such as recent sale prices for similar places nearby.
The question about forgotten items should be specific to you. A good answer asks, for instance, whether you have a pension statement you have not counted, instead of listing every asset type there is.
Strengths and risks come as one short pair per class: cash is there when you need it but loses ground to inflation; the ETF account can grow over long periods but can also fall by a third in a bad year.
The goal check and the revaluation table close the answer, with property revalued about once a year and listed shares or funds checked whenever you rebuild the snapshot.
What this can't tell you
The audit works only on the list you give it. It cannot see bank statements, land registers or pension records, so an account you forget stays missing unless the model's questions remind you of it.
Classing some items is a judgement call. A mixed fund holds both shares and bonds, and a pension may be invested in either, so two careful answers can sort the same list differently. A good answer says which call it made.
Suggested revaluation intervals are rules of thumb. The model cannot value your property, tell whether an old insurance policy still has a cash value, or know how each asset is taxed in your country. Check the class totals by hand, since a misplaced line is easy to miss.
Doing this without the retyping
Keeping a full asset list current in a chat window means rebuilding it every time. This prompt is one of the 62 built into Sumio, under the name "Asset Inventory and Assessment", and it runs on the assets you already track there. You enter holdings yourself and prices update automatically; the AI assistant is part of Sumio Premium. Records are stored on your device, and running the review sends the figures it needs to an AI provider.
